Normally when I post on a certain thread, it automatically assumes you want to follow that thread.
However I have recently been getting emails about new replies in threads I've never even opened, so I presume it's because they're all under the same forum and I must be following all topics in that forum, somehow.
How can I get rid of this?

You can follow an entire forum. I do that for a specific ones for various reasons.

In the desktop version, scroll down to the bottom and you will find the follow or unfollow this forum.
