We have been looking at inwood for the past two years and the housing market is very hard. Most of the houses there would need an extension in the very very near future - I have five kids. For the same price or even less of a house plus construction in inwood we can just buy a decent size house in woodmere and never have to deal with construction.
Dh is in klai kodesh so the woodmere taxes would not be so high for us. I am originally from the Midwest. Dh is a rebbe in 5t/fr school. We are pretty mainstream middle of the road yeshivish. Our boys would be in darchei not siach. Dh is a litvak. Not drawn to chassidus at all. Would we be happy in woodmere or is the yeshivish crowd there primarily siach.
I am not interested in far rockaway or bayswater. Is there any other area of the five towns that I should look into. Inwood really seems like the right crowd for us but I’m not having luck with the housing.

Darchei has a lot of kids of N Woodmere if that's helpful
