I have one child who is constantly kvetchy, crying, overreactive. Nothing we do makes dc happy! I try to model gratitude and Hakaras hatov but nothing working. Help me please! I get so triggered

I wish I knew. I’m the mom constantly kvetching.
I kvetch to my friends and sometimes to my husband. I have a hard time.
Not what you wanted to hear, I know.

How old is the kid?
I had a kid like that and every time she asked for something (which meant cried for something) I made her repeat it with a please and smile and then answered in a sing song chant ‘sure, you asked so nicely’.
It took a week or two but she caught on….
Fast fwd a few years, she still gets easily triggered into kvetching or tears (she’s a kid that needs a very rigid routine) but she has the tools to self regulate.
I also made a rule that I don’t respond to crying. If you say ‘mommy’ I answer but just whining I pretend I don’t hear…
