I have a 7 qt oval I use for week night meals that I have more control over when I turn off the heat. I like that it has more surface area for the food to get a nice color. I can have the chicken all on one layer.
I have a 4 qt round one I use for cholent.
We are a family of 7

Just remember that you don't have to fill up a large one, but you can't cram more into a small one.
Having said that, I'd probably go for three litres.

I’d say 8-10 quart size.. and if you’re getting the insert- get the biggest size- the extra large ones.
Happy prepping

We have a 4.5 for Shabbos and for regular weeknights. I also have a bigger one for chicken and rice.
