I think it's just a fairly common dilemma that people talk and vent about IRL. That's what this column does--it takes typical everyday sorts of dilemmas and tries to showcase the thinking behind each side. However, some of the dilemmas written up are less relatable than this one obviously is and don't strike a chord in the same way.
