Here's mine

1 1/2 c. warm water
1/2-3/4 c. oil
3 eggs
few squeezes of honey
1 tsp. salt
1/2-1 c. sugar
6-7 c. whole wheat flour (I used to use mostly reg. ww with a bit of white bread flour, now I use all White Whole Wheat flour)
2 Tbsp. yeast

I've tried a few recipes and this is my favorite. The key is to not use too much flour.

I just made it last night and it was just WORONG... Are there specific directions to make this? I just mixed everything in and it didn't feel right, not like a dough. I let it rise and it didn't do much, but I still baked it... and it came out hard as a rock and didn't rise... what did I do wrong? I used 100% whole wheat flour. I ended up making my fav. batch of white flour challa and it came out MMM.

It's a bread machine recipe, I've never tried it outside the bread machine. I've been making it almost every week it for two years now with success. I'm sorry it didn't work for you, the measurements are definitely right.

And no, since it's less than 7c. of flour I don't take challah at all.
