Call/visit your parent. Talk about grandma. If parent isn't frum, have someone say Kaddish & give Tzedaka in her zchus.
My kids call me & my mother on my father's yartzheit. If I'm in UK I go to his Kever (I go every time I am in the country) & if not, I visit the Ohel. If you can go, it would be nice to visit her kever.
That's about it. It's not a parent's yartzheit so you aren't mechoyev to do anything.

what could be expected ? one must do what they feel ... if it were me I would call my parent, light a candle for the grandparent and pray

just an idea...I complied a few nice writings, thoughts, anecdotes & pic from the nifteres(not grandma, a close family member ) & mailed it out to all relatives. It becomes a very special keepsake.
