There is a legend about a king who didn't have children.
He announced to his country that he will be giving out seeds to all the children, and the one who grows the nicest flower will be the next king.
At the end, all the kids brought beautiful plants, besides for one kid who said it didn't grow, and the king said that he had boiled the seeds, and the honest kid would be the heir.
anyone have any source? Is this a Jewish story?
Please help!!!

I think I read it in the one of illustrated children's story books by Artscroll.
The story was presented not as the king looking for a successor, but a successful father with three sons.
