Please criticise my seuda shlishit menu.
A few parameters:
- It’s going to be at a synagogue, (not my house), with limited fridge space and restriction
on bringing food from outside. Also limited time/kitchen space to do much chopping or prep.
- I can use only 1 plata.
- I think it’s nicer to do meaty, as this would be the last meaty meal until Wednesday.
Everything is put on table at once, so I'm a bit loathe to serve fish lest people mix.
- It’s going to be a late seuda, about 9pm. So usually few women and children (if any).
- I’m avoiding salad with mayo because the food may have to sit out for close to 1hr.
So far I'm thinking of
- challah
- dips (hummus, tahini, matbucha, baba ganoush)
- crudité, pickles, stuffed grapevine leaves
- cold cuts, yerushalmi kugel, potato kugel (all takeout)
- crackers, crisps
- fruits, soft drinks
What do you think?

It's perfect. Are you treating the whole shul?

Sounds perfect! A fruit cup or punch would be nice at every setting, otherwise it's plenty.
What are the stuffed leaves? Recipe?

Thanks ladies, esp reminder to serve mustards.
It's for the whole shul, but having said that it's not too crowded because it's rather late (so some people daave at home or go to the closest miniyan to their house).
Smilethere, it's grapevine leaves stuffed with rice. Comes in a tin, I think it's either made in Israel or Turkey. You can find it in kosher shops.

Sounds delicious!
Stuffed grapeleaves are super tasty. My Mom makes them with rice, vegetables, and raisins inside. Yum!
It's a lot of food, and there's no need for more, but if you're looking for another idea - maybe some potato, spinach, or mushroom borekas?
