How do married mothers teach at a BY???

teachers are paid way more than I thought even in private school.

didnt go through all the post...

I think being a teacher (ESP one in the school your kids are at!) is probably the best set up a young mother with little kids could have.

I was a limidie kodesh teacher for 3 years in a chabad school, where the pay WAS A JOKE. but where else can you find a job that you work 3.5 hours, never worry about yomtov, have off in the summer, AND be able to drop off adn pick up your kids?

for me, as a second (measly) income, it was worth it.

If you're a high school teacher like me, this isn't true at all. I basically have regular full time hours (they just start and end a bit earlier) and deal with the same issues any other f/t working mother has to deal with, except for the summer. Certain flexibilities like telecommuting are not an option. Teaching isn't quite as mommy-friendly as most people think, at least not until you have school-age kids.
