In the last few months/weeks my 8yr old daughter gets scared at night. She only goes into bed if an adult is nearby and wakes up during the night crying that she's scared.
Nothing happened recently that I can blame this on.
I've had discussions with her, she understands that after saying shema Hashem is watching over her and no scary robber is coming into the house... Yet she still wakes up crying that she is scared and wants a parent to lie in bed with her.
This goes on every night and it doesn't matter if her teenager sibling is sleeping in the bedroom with her.
Any suggestions???
