Has anyone ever pulled their child out of a school within the 1st few weeks and managed to get them into a different school right away?

Gonna depend where you live. In Lakewood it's probably impossible. In OOT where our class sizes are tiny, all you need to get into school is a registration fee

Call the school you want to switch to and ask. If they have space and you're a good fit for the school, then I assume you'll get in.

Nursery or fifth grade?
It can be very tough on the child. Hope it works out best for you!

Yes. We sent our daughter to a certain type of school because of the way it was advertised. Within 2 weeks, she and I both noticed that it was drastically different than the shpiel we were given. Moved my daughter to another school.

Yes, I've seen it. Including in town (not Lakewood.) But you'll likely benefit from having someone very involved in the school you want to switch to liaise for you.

There isn't a straight answer, you need to speak with the school you want.

It’s really hard to get in anywhere. If you would get accepted in a better fit school then you may as well. Which makes me wonder why you didn’t send there in the first place?

Long story. Was a last minute rushed decision to send to the current school. And I realize I made a big mistake

I’m an admin in a girls HS. I would advise sticking out the year and trying to transfer for next year.
Schools right now are not focused on accepting transfer students, they are focused on acclimating the students they already have to the new school year. Your transfer request will be far from a priority, especially since your daughter is already in a school (as opposed to not having a school to go to).
Also, keep in mind that you signed a tuition contract with the school that your daughter is currently in, so even if you do manage to get her in elsewhere you will likely be on the hook for tuition at both places.

Speak to the school you want to go to and find out if they have space. If they do and will accept you, take the place and inform current school that child will be leaving.

I don’t live in the us but that’s how it would be done where I live.
