What happened to Walmart free delivery?

I just ordered a couple of days ago & got free delivery. Now they're telling me I need to sign up for Walmart + for $98 a year. On top of my Amazon Prime. I don't think so...
And I have Shipt which I use at Target (although one item I was looking at is quite a bit pricier at Target... not a great surprise...)

Walmart+ is different than regular Walmart. Don't sign up. If its free shipping you'll get it

Do you mean regular groceries? You can get free delivery for that without plus?

It's free delivery over $35. Or with walmart+ for under $35.

Without Walmart Plus you can get shipping free over 35 and store pickup free over 35. Not store delivery.

With Walmart Plus you can get free shipping without a minimum and delivery over 35 but you can include a shipping order as part of the 35 for delivery if you pay all at the same time...

Well my order IS over $35. Maybe that's w tax. I guess I can try adding s/t. I am SURE there is some houseware or other I can use : )

Also double check that all the items you're ordering are directly from Walmart and not a 3rr party seller.
They sometimes have their own shipping fees.

Yeah this is what I was going to say.
Sometimes an item in your cart may be sold by a third party that charges shipping. Check all the items in your cart.

As a side note: in the end there is no such thing as "free delivery". Cost of gas needs to be put on someone which is the customer.

I think what I am seeing is that if I have $35 worth of items available for shipping, it will be free, but if they are coming from the store they want 9.99 or join Walmart+.

Yes that makes sense. That's delivery vs shipping.

Fyi, often they will deliver items the same day anyways even if you take the free shipping option.
That's been my experience with my last few orders.
