I just switched pediatricians. Isn't it a little too much to treat a cough with a nebulizer? I didn't ask if it was just water mist or medication, though. what's your opinions?

I've used it before and I find that it helps. You would know if it's using medicine or not since you have to put the medicine in the little compartment underneath the mask. I remember hearing that it's less invasive and more effective than cough syrups etc. Of course I would only use it when the cough is getting "bad" not stam coughing here and there.

We have a nebulizer at home that we use for ourselves and for all the kids. No meds. Just a little salt water. It is amazingly helpful. Though it took some getting used to for the kids. (Mine are 3, 1 and 1). It's scary at first, with the noise and the mask. But totally worth it. Really helps get all the gunk out.

I use it all the time with saline solution. It's great for croupy coughs before they get bad.
