This thread is making my feet feel fat .
I think the only people with feet my size are also at least 3" taller, at least so far.
I'm the only person in my family who got the lovely paddle-feet our genetics provide but not the ability to swim but hey, for the rest of them it's an advantage. (I do have a nice high arch but that only makes it harder to find shoes).

At 9 mos pregnant:
5'9.5
183 pounds
Size large maternity skirts and tops
Size 12 shoes
32DDD bra size, or 34DD.
When not preg:
5'9.5
Between 165 and 175 pounds
Between size 12-16 skirts, something around 12-14 generally. Medium to large sized tops. Stretchier tops generally medium, but button down or non stretchy I need a large because my shoulders are really broad.
Size 12 shoes
32DDD or 34DD.
I'm officially with a BMI of 24-26, depending, and honestly, I'm totally content with that, because I think I look good
Of course, wearing smaller skirts would be nicer only
because it would be a lot easier to find skirts; in Israel most stores don't carry skirts my size and all the shopkeepers try to convince me that I can fit into a smaller skirt and I CAN'T! But then again, I don't know if its even
possible for me to be a smaller skirt size because my hip bones are wide and I can't exactly shrink my bones no
matter how much of a diet I go on. |
im the same height/weight as u , also big bonned.how do u
only weight 185 at 9 months preg? At that point I hit 235,but I dont look like it, only a watermelon stomache,bh I lose everything with nursing and exercise, and I eat healthty during pregnancy but I wish I wouldnt gain so
much .
so we have weight 170, 5 91/2, clothes size 10/12, shoes 9.5, bra 38d. I do have to work out hard with weights to keep stronf muscles otherwise I look funny.

This was my post. FTR, BMI's mean flat out NOTHING, since they do not take into account body frame AND lighter/heavier bones. Thing is, post baby when people nod their head at how nebachdig round I am, I only weigh 120 pounds! So weight really means NOTHING, nadda, zilch! So BMI means even less! At times when I can barely squeeze into my size 6 skirts, I weigh 108! So all it means is that I am a tiny narrow frame, with very light bones and according to my doctor, in the healthy spectrum. In his words, "as long as you get your period monthly and ovulate and are capable of conceiving and carrying healthy babies to term, there is nothing to worry about".
Right, so just to prove him right, I've conceived some 10 times in the past 17 yrs. I think that proves me fine BH. |
You're right - height, build and genetics are very important to keep in mind when it comes to the "weight factor". I'm 5 feet and 108 and size 2 slides down my legs. Its a perfect example of how different one person can be from another person. weight is relative and its not so black and white as many people would think.

And truthfully, it goes the other way round too. Not all women who register big numbers on the scale and get a WARNING! BMI, are in reality obese. They might just be broader and a heavier frame, and could be quite trim. So I'd toss the scale and the bMI charts, and focus on the overall picture.

Right, this is me. I am 5"4, 125 pounds and wear a size 2, which probably seems strange to people. I've always had "heavy bones" and I can also tell you that one of my twins has heavy bones and one has light bones. They are one inch and THREE pounds different, which is a lot in a two year old. My larger twin doesn't look chubby at all...it's just her frame/bones.

I feel like the REAL question (for some of us) should be a comparison between what we were on our wedding day vs. now. For me, that's a sad and scary thought!
Wedding day (4 yrs ago, today -actually! Hebrew date):
5'3.75"
105lbs
34B cup
Size 0-4
NOW (also 2 months pg):
5'3.75"
160-165 lbs (and climbing!)
36B or C
Size: Only Stretchy! ~M or L.
I do not wear skirts with zippers anymore! No no NO! Those have been banished!
I got up to 170lbs not preg, maybe even more, and its so depressing thinking back to the time when I had a waist to speak of!

^ still same amother w/ those wedding weight woes)
forgot shoe:
7.5 - normal or narrow.
While we're at it, why not add ring finger size? tampon preference? head circumference? Glasses prescription? Daily calorie intake? This thread does seem silly to me.

5'3"
210lbs (biggest I've ever been...)
38DDD
Shoe size: 8.5 - 9
Clothing size: 16
It might seem odd that someone with my measurements could wear a size 16, but I have massive, heavy bones. I don't look my weight (although clearly I'm overweight!).

Actually, waist measurement or hip/waist ratio is the tool most specialists prefer these days, rather than BMI!
A person can be extremely overweight, but if all that weight is carried on the hip/bottom, there is very little increase in cardiovascular risk!
And a slim person, but carrying fat around the belly has a greatly higher CV risk... Obviously the risk for someone falling into both categories (a lot of excess weight, mainly round the tummy) is in exponentially greater!
There is also a genetic component to this - black people are often heaver, but with very low levels of "visceral" (belly) fat. Asians are the opposite - slim, but with higher levels of belly fat and a higher CV risk! White people are generally somewhere in the middle
