Doing a favor for someone?
Offering your help only to be rebuffed..
Lending a hand only to be snubbed?
Trying to be there for someone else and getting backlash.

Yes, this has happened to me.
Or helping too much and resenting it later, especially when it's a one-way-street.
And also: helping financially and it destroyed friendships.
Not everyone who needs help is a good person. Sometimes you get burned from helping.

Yes. I am often left feeling unappreciated. It annoys me. I think twice before doing a favor for that person again. Or make sure it is on my terms that it will not be a big deal (at all) for me to do.

Yes and I stopped offering so much of myself. I didn't expect anything in return but I realized that if people want help they will ask and it's a waste of my time to offer.

Hard because my friend asked me for a favor. I told her ill try but I didn't get around to doing it. She got all mad at me why I don't have time ...
Like I was doing you a favor trying to at least

I have. I try to learn from it though, so that I don’t totally regret it.

Just twice, both in HS. Once I lent a classmate (not even a real friend) my notes to copy before an exam and she didn’t return them till the day of the exam. And once I lent another classmate, also not a real friend, a textbook which she lost and claimed she returned to me by putting in my locker. Not possible. Our lockers were locked so unless she had burglar skills she couldn’t have gotten in.
True friends wouldn’t have acted this way.
