You can have both but your a person with limited energy. I vote for more help in your house. It helps alleviate some stresses so you can devote more energy to your kids.

If you're feeling burnt out, it's time to recharge. Take care of yourself first so you have the energy to take care of your kids. Get more cleaning help, cut corners in other areas so you can spend time with them when you aren't busy with your career. And set boundaries as to when you're giving time to kids and when you're busy with career. You can do both, you just have to be recharged, energized and have clear guidelines for yourself.

I absolutely hear you..
I took this parenting course by Shais Taub and it was a game changer for me. Literally life changing.... gave me exactly the inspiration and chizzuk I needed. He's brilliant and makes himself available through the whatsapp group too. It's just amazing.
Hes offering another round really soon.... Can't recommend it enough.

When serving them supper, giving them what they need, or anything you're doing anyway, do it with eye contact, with feeling, with connection.
You can be at the park together and be disconnected, and you can be bathing and getting them into pajamas and that can be a way to connect.
Not that the activities and outings are not valuable. They are, they create connection and amazing childhood memories, but you can connect in the everyday every moment also. And those can be even more valuable - because you can be making connections with every moment of mother-child interaction. |
This is very solid advice. Use the day to day routine to connect. Beaches and baking don't necessarily need to happen often. Schmoozing with kids while puttering around the house, or even better, doing some daily tasks together etc etc.
We tend to think that giving our kids attention means doing extra things. While that may be exciting it's not necessary on a constant basis in order to connect.

Things you have to do anyways —make them bonding.
U will both enjoy more
