inwood is constantly growing, and all types are moving in. however, housing situation is not great at all though... ie small/old/odd houses and very few of them. prices keep rising, many need work most are not ideal layouts for frum families and require major construction to get there.

After purchasing and fixing up house what is the total I should be prepared to spend for a 4 bdrm house laid out for a frum family. Nothing fancy I’d do as little as possible but I do want 4 bdrm and playroom. 600k? 700k?

it totally depends. a lot of the three bedroom houses that have weird layouts (majority of houses here) are going to need a hefty amount of work if you will want 4 bedrooms "jewisjh" style and a playroom. sometimes people square off the top of cape cods and that can be 100-150+. and if you want a jewish new kitchen and a typical dining room set up that will require work too. depending on the location and condition these small houses are going anywhere from high fours into the high fives/low sixs
