Is there anyone in Brooklyn that will cash checks for someone who doesn’t have a bank account - either as a chesed or for a low fee?
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

There are check cashing centers/businesses in virtually every city. I believe they take 2% fee.
Alternatively, thr payee can take the check to the bank that it's issued from to cash it; I don't think there's a fee if you cash it that way.

From what I understand, check cashing places don’t take personal checks - only from businesses. And I think it’s quite a bit more than 2% if I recall correctly.
Is there no one in the community that does it as a service?
