Just get a regular twin bed and a guardrail. Will save you money down the line. If you buy a mattress from a Jewish store you will get a platform along with it. Or buy a high riser. It’s the same price as two mattresses. Or buy the convertible ikea crib if you’re set on toddler size.

It's usually quite expensive for what it is. It would be cheaper to buy a second basic crib.
We bought a crib from Ikea which turns into a toddler bed but it's the same size as a crib which is great for space saving. The mattress cost us maybe $30 from amazon.

Will just add I don't know how old your dc is or what stage of development, but if they're not climbing out their crib, I wouldn't rush to move them to a bed. It's much harder when they're in a bed as they don't stay put.

Do you have link for $30 matress from?

Had a quick look and they don't seem to stock it anymore. It was nearly 3 years so it could be they don't have it anymore. It does look like prices have gone up or that might just be amazon. I don't always find they're the best priced for these sort of items.
Walmart seem to have for reasonable prices. Like this one for $40 if it's the right size.

Might also be worth looking on ebay, for new mattresses that is not used. I find you get clearance and end of line stuff for good prices there.

So maybe I will just take one side off porta crib and call it a "bed." Then I will buy another porta crib for baby. Does that make sense? Does anyone have a foldable cheap porta crib

I dont think you could take off one side of a porta crib, the whole thing will fall apart.

I think you should put your baby in porta crib, and get these for toddler.
