I live in one of the new developments down South and the rent is not going down. Maybe even getting higher.

It wouldn’t make sense for them to lower the rent if prices will go back up in the spring. Better to hold out for a higher paying tenant than to get locked into a lower rent for however long.
The thing I’m most frustrated about is how little section 8 pays. It’s not enough to cover rent for anything now.

Wow! I haven’t priced bp recently, so I might be wrong. But isn’t this the same rental prices being charged in bp?

In Boro Park you pay about $4k for a 4 bedroom, sometimes old, apartment all on one floor. Here it's up to 4k for a brand new 5 bedroom duplex HOUSE. (unless prices in Boro park changed since I moved out)
