I have spent lots of time in NY, London, and have visited Paris a few times.

I had quite a few antisemitic incidents in NY, one in Paris, none in London.

In Paris, (before Oct 7) on the plus side, a few people came to our defence.

As Ruchel said, I think there are other reasons for high aliya rates from France besides antisemitism.

LOL. Are you actually using "yerida" to mean leaving Paris?

I understood her post to mean that some of those making aliya from France were convinced to do so with false promises, and when it didn't work out well for them, they moved back to France.

Anything can happen everywhere.
Be aware of the timing of the Olympic games, July 26 to august 11, but hotel prices might go up already before that.

I would have expected such a question from an American, but a Brit?

Can just imagine yelling over La Manche — “it’s worse there!” “no, it’s worse there!”

Bottom line, there are nasty and nice/normal people everywhere.

I personally feel safe here in Britain. I guess there are antisemitic people everywhere. I thought France was known to be more than here. Like there they don't walk around with their capels/hats whereas here there are hats, capels and streimels galore. Maybe it's just the difference in culture.

I know, my dh checked for accommodation and it's also very expensive. This vacation might just be a nice dream Smile

Maybe this year is not ideal because of the olympic games.
Try again next year.

From here it seems opposite, horrible videos and articles. Burkas and attacks and street prayers and Muslims officials talking against Jews...
I've had people at school tell me not to send my kid. But again I'm not a media zombie. Go and enjoy. Sorry won't intervene again

Maybe in the city centre on a Shabbos, but obviously we're never there then. We live amongst them that's for sure but they don't bother us. The odd few have hung flags up, that's it.
