Thanks for the tip, it looks like a good book!

Now what to order for second DD. Room for One More sounds nice but the summary mentions a boy crush which I don't love. And Welcome Back Maple Mehta-Cohen sounds like an interesting story, but of course they have to throw in a Hindu father to keep things multicultural. If it's a big part of the book that's a turnoff for me. And the other one just looks overall meh but who knows. If I have time I'll read the sample first chapter of each to see how they sound but right now I'm swamped and can't.

Did they have this one recently? It looks familiar. Maybe it was a different one in the series?

Definitely not recent as in the last few months. I choose books every month and never saw this one before.

Thanks for alerting me. I just double checked and my kids said we do have it.
So what else is everyone taking?

July bump

Nothing looks super compelling to me. I'm interested in the biography but always need to screen those carefully because they often try to stick in value messaging that I don't care for. Other than that... meh. The first one looks interesting but I'm not a fan of the idea that you need lots of illness and death to be meaningful (or holocaust, but that's not this month's problem)

Anyone have an opinion on this month's choices?

I am not choosing any. We once got Turtle Boy, which I read, and was actually quite good, but I can't remember if I gave it to my kids, but if you read the description of the book on Amazon, it mentions a school dance, so I guess it has inappropriate parts.
The others do not seem appropriate at all.

Can you explain the choices to me? I just get the books sent to us, no choice options.

Is that for a certain age only?

From a certain age (I think maybe 8) you get to choose one of 4 books for that month.

You would have to sign up, though, at PJ Our Way. You don't get transferred over automatically.

Anyone have any thoughts on this month’s offerings? I don’t see anything exciting.
