Today's supper was an idea from a different thread for winter vacation.
I gave out "menus" last night, and my kids ordered hot dogs or burgers with lettuce, pickles, fries, and onion rings.
I prepared them, wrapped them in takeout boxes, and we pretended we were eating takeout.

Tonight the little kids had a homemade taco bar with all sorts of fun toppings.

Adults had steak salad. (Basically, the toppings from the "taco bar" with chunks of steak sliced in).

The weather is beyond insane here so I made homemade ramen soup in the instant pot this morning. I am excited to try it tonight!

Cold cuts in wraps or bread with sliced vegetables from yesterday. I'm home sick so anything else they want they're on their own.

For the tomato chicken I mix up tomato sauce, honey, soy sauce and seasoning and bake uncovered, basting halfway through (or more often, it bakes while I'm out of the house and I can't baste, so I turn the chicken upside down so the sauce that slips down ends up on the skintop of the chicken, and when I come home I just flip it back up and brown the top in broil for just a few min).
Baked potato I just bake plain. And then I cut each in half and serve it steaming with a smear made of the olive oil based Smart Balance, fresh garlic, parsley and kosher salt.
