I didn't get to keep it, of course. I borrowed it from Golda Gross' gemach in Queens. The charge (at least in those days) was $75 to cover the cost of cleaning and you could give extra as a donation, if you wanted.

Mine was a rental. I loved it but had to give it back that night! Same with DH's tux. So much for romance--my mom (and his father) had to undress us in the bathrooms at the hall so they could take the clothes back, LOL.

Ruchel, Mommy Z and Amother your gowns (and you!) were gorgeous!
Ruchel we had a lovely seder, grandson tried asking ma nishtana but got stuck after the first sentence and tried it several times. Dh stopped the seder every time he wanted to ask in order to encourage him but no go...maybe next year when he is three...

I borrowed my gown from my friend. completely free.
in hindsight I probably would have liked to rent one of my choice, but I wanted to help my mother out financially as much as I could and I was just as happy getting married in that dress bec I was just so happy to be getting married

Wow $2,500 that's a lot!
I got my dress for free from someone and then I donated it to a gown gemach!
