I must be a confused individual . I don't know what I am. I have an extrovert personality and very outspoken and not shy . But I like being myself and spending time with ME a lot and don't like to talk to friends on the phone. What am I ???

Ok. Thanks. I actually related to your post the most. The only thing different is that I love discussing recipes 😊

In real life I'm an extrovert but I also love time on my own.

I find it difficult to express myself in writing, and if I cant portray a message exactly how I want it to come across I'll just erase it and skip adding my thought! so I probably come across as more of an introvert here!

I found this article to be an interesting read. Basically introvert vs extrovert doesn't mean shy vs talkative. Rather what do you get your energy from? Being around other people of being alone?

This.

I'm definitely an introvert. I enjoy chatting with my friends, but need time by myself to recharge after socialising. Interestingly, as far as your question is concerned, I recently realised that I need to wind down/recharge after a lot of Facebook or other online interaction too, similar to IRL.

Introvert.
I find it interesting that so far a majority of those who responded are introverts. Maybe because introverts are more likely to spend time online?

I think it has to do with that.

Extrovert by personality. Though introvert by circumstance (whose interested in hearing my opinions anyways). On Imamother- extrovert, as I can post my thoughts and opinions without judgment and identity.

Assertive introvert.

I'm not shy. But I don't feel the need to socialize with large groups of people, nor do I enjoy it. In camp, I kept looking for quiet times and places where I could be alone, just for a bit.

I prefer a few close friends to a large circle of acquaintances. I'd much rather get together with one friend for lunch than go to a party.

On here, I probably come across as more extroverted, but in real life, I don't talk unless I have something meaningful to contribute. I'm just not a chit-chat kind of gal!

This is an interesting thread.
I am an introvert. I like to socialize but only with people who I really trust that won't judge me. That obviously very much limits the amount of people I socialize with. I spend lots a time (too much!) just thinking and analyzing.

I don't know what I come across on here. I definitely say things on Ima that I wouldn't feel comfortable to say IRL. I can't see your face if your judging me or not, so even if you don't like what I say there's protection in that screen;) In a certain respect, I am more real with my thoughts and feelings on Ima then in real life. There's a freedom when speaking to random strangers whom you will never meet.

And as allthingsblue noted it is interesting to see that majority so far are introverts.
Also interesting, is that some posters that are so vocal here, are introverts IRL. I'm thinking of Fox and Imasinger- I can't imagine you keeping all those great stuff inside. Although it does make sense to me that you're both introverts.

Trying to figure it out
I love company, phone calls, going out with friends, I usually feel like I talk too much at friend gatherings,
On the other hand, I crave my space and quiet and need a good dose of "me " time every day.

I'm an introverted extrovert IRL. Smile
I prefer to be alone. But I love to talk. I thrive in social situations and have a great time, but I need to majorly "recover" for a long time afterwards. LOL Social introvert I guess.
