Which poskim have which problems with Chassidishe practices and philosophies, and what are their problems? (Excluding upsherenish, the topic of the thread. )

Let's put it this way: there is one (LARGE) element of self-identifying Modern Orthodox Jews who violate halacha b'shita. |
Do you have demographic information? Because I don't think it is as large as you think and I really don't think it is b'shitta. A very close family member of mine is is a Rav in a 700 family MO shul. I know these people and their halachic lives.

Which I will gladly admit is me, but like I said before, which you found offensive many of "our" poskim find some chasidish practices and philosophies problematic. Why does it only work one way? |
Don't worry, it only works that way here. When you sign off and re-enter the real world, it's quite a different story.

This one came to mind right away, - eruv, there are chassidish groups that hold by the eruvim in Brooklyn, whereas almost everyone else holds they are no good. [see an example that does not include YU-MO only the YU mahmir and does not include Lubav only other chassidus _ so the 2 of you shouldn't feel too hotly on the topic).

I was making a simple point about the nature of minhag and upsherin, and instead I got sucked into an argument that is not winnable on any side.
OP, if you are still reading, my comments were intended to help you think more broadly about the issue, which I hope they did. Good luck with whatever you decide!

This is not quite what I meant.
Which groups use the eiruvin, and which rabbonim have spoken out against them? (Specific names might be more helpful.)

Because, to be honest, no one knows what a wimpel is. All kidding aside, why would I look for an obscure minhag (to most people, a wimpel is pretty obscure) instead of one that my neighbors and friends all do?
|
ahem. anyone (like myself) who has the minhag to do a wimpel knows exactly what it is.
you guys really make me laugh. you're going on and on that you know so much about all the different minhagim of frum people...apparently not if u think no one knows what a wimpel is. how many yekkes do YOU know?

Did you notice the icon?
I was mostly joking, though I don't know too much about a wimpel (am most curious, as it happens).
I don't know any practicing yekkes personally.
