Refua sheleima, I think this superhero needs a bit of self-care rest up!

So much for heroism...turns out it was the flu and today 7 of my students were out. Heroism would have been for me to bail when I felt sick. Poor kids.

Omigosh I would have loved that bag when I was pumping for my nicu guy! I did feel like superwoman then (except that I could barely waddle down to the nicu because if my c section).

I'm a superhero, because after 3 weeks of being sick I finally just took a day off work. Shame I'm not superhero enough to stay home today as well. Being sick and 30 weeks pregnant really takes it all out of me.
I can't believe it but the world is still standing. ;-)

I know this is an old thread, but popped in here after a looooong break and came across this thread.
So today I feel like a superhero because I was up at the crack of dawn to travel into the city for last minute urgent appointments with 3 specialists (I'm a night owl so didn't see my bed till about 2:30).
Baby showed off somewhat to all her doctors & nurses buddies . She is the biggest superhero & even has a tinysuperhero cape!
We rushed back home for another childs performance. (all this in/out of car with a ton of equipment to carry) Came home with a few minutes to spare, gave meds & rushed out to the play. ran home right after for babys therapy session & by the time that was done the other kids were home already.

I'm beyond exhausted & took a few minutes break here while kids are playing. (dozed off for a sec & of course thats when dr calls with results)
now its bedtime for kids, so I really need superhero powers while my husb is at a wedding tonight.
I still need even more superhero powers to get my act together and go to a simcha soon (did I mention I work at night? have to squeeze that in somewhere as well)
wow, that was long! a short, partial synopsis of one day in the life here.... |
My goodness, you did in one day what I would've done in three!

My baby is 7 weeks old, 5.5 of them he spent in the NICU. My boss texted me today about a miscommunication about when she thought I was coming back to work. She handled it with the least bit of sensitivity, knowing my situation, and honestly I'm disgusted by how she's handling it, putting tons of pressure on me. So after reading her text I went to the bathroom, come out and see my baby had calmly pulled out his feeding tube. So even though my DH was running out to Seder, we had to put a new one in, which obviously the baby doesn't like and cries and screams, and took forever to calm him down. After he finally fell asleep for a bit I go to the bathroom and come out and see he's covered in spit up from head to toe, I guess all that feeding tube drama and he threw up. I give him a bath and change him, but he was so over tired and stressed so he obviously was quite fussy. Fast forward, my DH is about to go out to night seder and I ask if he can quickly change his diaper and he opens it up and somehow, pure talent, the baby got poop everywhere, it came up in his diaper, all over his onesie, all over his legs and tummy... So I told my husband to go learn and I'll take care of it... BH the baby's sleeping now, but been quite a day. (still mad at my boss by the way.)

1'st of all mazel tov!
Tubie drama at its best Quite the active one to manage to pull out so fast!
And I would be very mad at my boss! you like literally just came home from the hospital! you need at least the reg 6 wks to recuperate (if not more!) plus I'm sure you're busy with appointments and stuff...
p.s. did your baby get a tubie friend yet?

Just to clarify- his tube is an NG tube, it's through the nose, nothing major, just a pain to put in since it's literally sticking it up his nose while he screams and cries...
