Watch this to put measles in perspective. |
Absurd propaganda. You don't learn about the history of disease from the Brady Bunch.

But you can learn how people REALLY felt about it when it was normal to have measles before a vaccine existed for it.

The Brady Brunch are not REAL people.

Ya I know, but they tackled real life issues. It wasn’t, “I dream of Genie.”

In real life - some people get very sick from the measles. (and you can't get perceptive on much of anything from watching the Brady Bunch).

I agree rarely but sometimes people get sick from measles. No question about it. Children also get sick from vaccines. Statistics show this happens more frequently. People deserve the right to choose what odds they want for their kids without being attacked.

Because of the Brady Bunch?
NOPE. MMR Vaccination isn't a choice. If you did have the right to choose - I'd agree with you. You don't.

Why don’t I have the right to choose?

My little brother is 17 and I just realized he was never vaccinated my mother was very anti-vaxx.
We’re flying next week and I’m nervous to take him on a plane and possibly taking undetected measles to another country.
Problem is that even if I can convince him to get the mmr he needs two to have full immunity. Can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner.

Do you live in a country with mandatory MMR for school children?

Yes, but one that allows exemptions.

Which means - you still don't have the right to choose.
If you are religiously not permitted to vaccinate - you really don't have a choice in the matter. You couldn't think about if you want to 'take risks' or whatever - you have to follow your religious authority. There is no choice - you couldn't vaccinate if you wanted to.

They didn't really offer any defense imo.
:shrug de blasio sounded more sane to me. And I don't usually agree with him.

Have any Rabbis or Rebbes given a Psak NOT allowing parents to vaccinate?

Ive always vaccinated but the woman who said they use modern medicine to cure when theres disease present, but not to prevent disease (when there may be harmful side effects) in a perfectly healthy child.

I have no idea. But that's what a religious exemption is meant for - religions that do not permit vaccination.

One shot gives 93% immunity.
Two gives 97%.
One shot is way better than none.
But it does take some time (2 weeks?) For immunity to kick in. I'd speak to a doctor about the timing, where you are, possible exposure, and where you are flying to. Rather, he should speak to a doctor. He's 17!
On that note, does he need an adult to consent to this vaccine or can he decide on his own? The law probably varies by location.
