K, I didn't get this one either (did I?) I just assumed it was from I Love Lucy

Fox, if you believe in laughter (or even if you don't) check this out. Scroll down to full video of movie about Norman Cousins' Anatomy of an Illness.
Enjoy! And feel better!

Penguin, there's your answer. They were both lines from Lucille.
Which reminds me of some good general advice: You've got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run....

PinkFridge, did you have a previous existence as someone who was more comfortable in the secular world?
Fox, continued warm wishes for a refuah sheleimah.

No, I just grew up jpf when it was normal to have a TV, listen to the radio, go to movies. Not that everyone did, or that I did it excessively. Just enough to sound hep like you describe. My frame of reference ends in the mid 80s
I think that if my parents were doing it now, they'd do it more like I am, with more editing and filters.

You're not missing anything. There's been no good music since the 80s anyway.

I think that describes my upbringing too. I stopped watching TV and listening to the radio at some point, not for religious reasons, rather for cultural reasons. I don't edit and filter much for my kids, most because no one would listen and I think it would backfire.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. (See what I did there? I still remember!)
Fox, get well!

Oh, dear. We need to get you a copy of Automatic for the People, if nothing else.OK Computer. Nevermind. Tom Petty. Green Day. And then we'll move out of the 90s.
ETA -- shabbat shalom, Fox. Hope you're home soon.
