Motrin is a quick fix and might have lessened it, but also not a long term solution. He is a mess from all the antibiotics, and actually probiotics, and other remedies. Diet is not something I want to torture a 9 year old with surrounding siblings who can eat normal.
Motrin is more of a test, if motrin / Benadryl / robitussin work that gives you a lot of hot clues about the mechanisms behind the tics. Motrin indicates generic inflammation, Benadryl helping would mean there is a histamine/mast cell component , and robitussin would indicate there is a glutamate issue going on. Then you can work from there.

Also, sometimes quick fixes are important until you can address deeper issues, especially because leaving it untreated can chv make it harder and harder to heal.

I hear you about the diet but does he not feel tortured about the incessant tics ? Sad

I don’t want to push something you don’t want to do, but literally a food intolerance alone can cause awful tics in some kids.

He is certainly tortured by his tics. He told me today 5 kids asked him about it...
I understand getting a quick fix, but since we know he has elevated Mycoplasma, I need to address that. He has lately been having chest pain and headaches too. It seems like antibiotics alone are not working.

So I give her a pill called Aerius which is an antihistamine and Gelsemium which is also called yellow jasmine which works for anxiety among a bunch of other stuff.

What antibiotic is he currently on for mycoplasma? Sorry if I already asked but there are a few different similar threads running and I forget where I said what. Would you be interested in herbal protocols for mycoplasma ?

We used an herbal formula for Mycoplasma. I forgot exactly what it was called but I think the company was rainpharm.

I hope you have quick and easy success with this. In many cases, there's a way bigger picture going on. Just killing the Mycoplasma is not usually the ultimate answer. It's often a combination of many pieces that need work.

I’ve read that in some cases, vocal tics can be controlled with deep breath and muscle relaxation exercises. As a speech therapist, I’ve done these kinds of activities with children and have been pleasantly surprised to see what they are capable of.

He was on different ones as dr kept changing. Currently he was put back on Zithromax. I have an appt with his reg pediatrician to discuss the bloodwork but I think every dr prescribes something else..
(I tried bc I literally cannot get through to any of these specialists)

I would love to know what helped. It sounds so complicated to get rid of.
