The NBA, Google, Apple, and Marriott are some of the big names ensnared in the politics of China's censorship and increasing willingness to overrule the the civil rights of American companies in which it owns investments.

This has been something discussed in free speech circles for quite a while, but it seems the rest of the world is waking up to the idea that maybe Chinese investment comes with too high a price tag.

I hope you're right. Americans have become so addicted to cheap Chinese goods that I'm not sure most care about Chinese censorship and human rights abuses.

At least for now the Chinese don't seem interested in starting a war with their best customer.
