Here are some quotes from Trump during his speech yesterday to the Israeli American Council. I've bolded some choice phrases which reek of antisemitism.

“A lot of you are in the real estate business because I know you very well; you’re brutal killers. You’re not nice people at all, but you have to vote for me. You have no choice.

"You’re not going to vote for Pocahontas; I can tell you that. You’re not going to vote for the wealth tax!”

“Even if you don’t like me — some of you don’t, [and] some of you I don’t like at all actually — you’re going to be my biggest supporters because you’ll be out of business in about 15 minutes if they [the Democrats] get in."

President Donald Trump went on an anti-Semitic tirade on Saturday in Hollywood, Fla., while speaking to the Israeli American Council, as reported by the U.K.-based Independent and other media.

“A lot of you are in the real estate business because I know you very well; you’re brutal killers. You’re not nice people at all, but you have to vote for me. You have no choice,” Trump told the group, which is funded by Sheldon Adelson, a Las Vegas casino tycoon who’s a big supporter of the president.

Trump went on to slam U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a potential 2020 rival for whom he routinely uses the racist slur “Pocahontas.”

“You’re not going to vote for Pocahontas; I can tell you that. You’re not going to vote for the wealth tax!” Trump said.

The president also said he “doesn’t like” many Jewish people, but warned that the Democrats’ fiscal policies will mean they’ll vote for him.

“Even if you don’t like me — some of you don’t, [and] some of you I don’t like at all actually — you’re going to be my biggest supporters because you’ll be out of business in about 15 minutes if they [the Democrats] get in,” he added.

The remarks have been condemned by many on social media. The Michigan Jewish Democrats issued a statement that the group is “repulsed” by Trump’s comments, calling him “the most antisemitic president this country has seen since Richard Nixon.”

THANK YOU for posting this. Not that this will change the minds of those who believe that DT is the next best thing to Mashiach.

This is a real stretch. It sounds like he’s talking about real estate developers and some people in that particular room.

There are plenty of reasons to criticize Trump, but this ain’t one.

I think it's hard to watch his actual speech and conclude that his comments were anti-semitic:

I’m not a Trump fan but I really don’t think he’s anti-Semitic. As usual he doesn’t express himself well.

Oh!!! I thought he was saying all this tongue-in-cheek!

(Then again, I'm not one that looks for offense when there is none.)

I don't think Trump is anti semitic in the "hatred" of Jews way. I do think, he absolutely buys into Jewish stereotyping (wants all his accountants to be Jewish, Jews are wealthy, Jews are concerned about money, Jews have a dual loyalty etc), which is a form of antisemitism.

I think he's teasing in a friendly way, and he has definitely earned the right to be considered a friend with many pro-Israel and pro-Jewish moves.

What, you don't believe that there are Jews in real estate who are ruthless?

Yes, and there are Jews in real estate who aren't ruthless. The assigning of a characteristic to an entire race/ religion is the essence of bigotry.

Yes, and not only that, Trump himself has a real estate background. I think part of the intended humor was, he could've just as easily been talking about himself.

But he didn't say that. So there are 2 logical leaps here. First, that when he refers to the people he knows who are ruthless in real estate, he means The Jews. And second, that he means that about ALL Jews.

And all of the times within the same speech where he says that he respects Israel and the Jewish Nation, and supports their right to live in peace and security, and will and has made various efforts to help ensure the safety of the State of Israel and the Jewish People, that's all just...Idk, is that relevant at all here?

He was speaking to a room full of Jews, so not a leap to think he meant Jews when he said "you". And when he said "You’re not going to vote for Pocahontas; I can tell you that. You’re not going to vote for the wealth tax!" He was also talking to a room full of Jews. So no, I don't think it's a logical jump.

As I said above, I don't Trump hates Jews, but he definitely stereotypes us. Maybe you think that's a worthwhile price. But let's not pretend that moving the embassy means that's there's no bigotry.

...and conspiracy theories! He manages to position them as a nice thing.

Which is gross but he's got a Jewish daughter, his speechwriter is Jewish and he moved the embassy so who am I to complain!

Um, you guys do realize that Trump used virtually identical wording in a speech to a non-Jewish crowd four months ago in New Hampshire, don't you?

Not that I would question the motives of the Michigan Jewish Democrats in being offended by this, but nobody in New Hampshire seemed to think Trump was singling out Jews or anybody else -- they thought he was using a sort of irony of juxtoposition.

The Times of Israel has already had to change their headline on this story.

Please. Hit Trump on health care and the deficit -- legitimate criticisms. Don't weaken your arguments by chasing after this kind of nonsense.

To a crowd in New Hampshire:

“If, for some reason, I were not to have won the election, these markets would have crashed. That will happen even more so in 2020. You have no choice but to vote for me, because your 401(k), everything is going to be down the tubes.”

“Whether you love me or hate me, you have got to vote for me,”

-

To a Israeli American Council advocacy group in Florida:

"A lot of you are in the real estate business because I know you very well. You’re brutal killers. Not nice people at all. But you have to vote for me, you have no choice."

"You’re not going to vote for Pocahontas, I can tell you that. You’re not going to vote for the wealth tax,"

Yeah, ”virtually identical wording” to a ”virtually identical” crowd.

I listened to the speech. I see hostility, thinly veiled behind a thin veneer of Trumpian humor. And yes, of course, stereotyping.

At least on imamother, the women who are oppose Trump do not appear to be on the receiving end of any sort of state or federal handouts.

In general, while Trump voters outnumbered Hillary Clinton voters among those earning between 100 and 200K a year; Clinton voters outnumbered Trump voters among those earning between 200 and 250K a year. Among those earning over 250K a year, it appears to have been a dead heat. Source: https://www.washingtonpost.com.....hier/

Yeah, we should rally talk about food stamps (SNAP)! 688,000 people will lose access to food stamp. Nice!

But they're all Democrats so who cares!
