OP you are not the only one.
I would stock even way more food if I knew my Brooklyn apartment could possibly accommodate, but alas it can't.
For some reason with all the craziness in the world my biggest panic is envisioning a lack of food. If I listened to that voice of panic and acted on it fully, I would probably buy out the whole Shoprite. I wish I was exaggerating. I am not.
Holocaust trauma in my background doesn't exactly help the panic.

You guys make it seem like you are in control. Pretending that you are in control and prepared won’t actually help you control life.
Things change so fast nowadays. Today its a food shortage, tomorrow its a virus, and next week its an internet blackout. |
I don't really understand this comment.
We all know that Hashem is in conrol of the world.
Since when do people not prepare or view preparing as thinking we are in control instead of Hashem?
People prepare for many situations in life every day. The big and the small. The very likely and the less likely. This is normal. What's to laugh about??
OP, I'm with you. I stocked up like mad in March but then calmed down. DH mentioned a flour shortage to me last week and I'm kind of overbuying and stocking again now.
