Someone identifying on this thread as fuschia, and on another thread as puce, and a different colour somewhere else felt that the passive aggressive hugs sometimes given on this website were the biggest and most hurtful insult in the world. She took it on herself to remedy the situation by hugging every post on a thread where she felt there was a hug that could be interpreted as passive aggressive. A number of posters got annoyed, upset or hurt about it, but she remained convinced that she was doing the right thing. Extra credit opened this poll, and the poster bowed to the majority opinion which went against her convictions, and has temporarily stopped distributing random and irrelevant hugs.
ETA Edited to correct a few spelling mistakes that I only noticed after posting.

When I joined the is site I thought the heart was for loves- like the post if you like it, love it if you love it!

Are you serious? The PM function on this site cannot be disabled. There is no safe way to post not anonymously. Besides, the PA hugs are more than anonymous.

No. But some things are pretty clear cut. Like that you can change your beliefs when faced with new information, but going against your own beliefs makes no sense.
