Where could I find a consignment shop in NYC? I recently lost weight for a family simchah and bought a nice suit that I work 2-3 times, now I am expecting and don't expect to fit into it for a while and by that time (if that ever happens ) it will be out of style...I would love to somehow sell the suit, it is very stylish now, and a very small size (size 2)...any ideas?
I can sympathize with OP, I was just looking through my maternity clothing from my last pregnancy that was a few years ago and the clothing is in nice condition but now is out of style...for those of you that would notice someone that was not dressed in style, would the same apply to maternity, or are people more forgiving when it comes to maternity clothing? I am not sure if I should wear my old clothing or not...

never throw out a quality classic suit,u can always add something to it,or still wear it,w/up to date jewelry or nice shoes.
the only thing that is out of style out dated and WILL NEVER come back in style is polyester.
a sheath is a great thing to have!it never goes out of style.
consignment shops take only good clothing it doesnt have to be "in style" at all,but it has to be in good condition.u can either exchange it for something in the store,or sell it there, and they will call u when the item sells.my dd and I found a fabulous antique creme dress, and a long flowing fish shaped skirt, she still wears the skirt, she gets compliments galore.
if something looks great on u why wear something "in style" that wouldn't look good on u.
women with hips, would be out of their minds to wear a short jacket, even though its "in style".
put the suit on if u look fantastic in it...keep it and continue to wear it,if u feel it isn't the most flattering thing u own but dont want to part with it bc u spent so much money on it,then take it to an alteration shop(someone who makes clothes for a living)and ask them can they change the lines of the suit.
I was taught in my previous life never buy a suit bc of style buy a suit bc its a classic style suit.
