Gf, sugar, dairy and nightshade free Smile

So my comfort food is sesame chicken with liquid/coconut aminos and honey.

But seriously, if someone else makes food. That's the real comfort!

Definitely anything in my bed, a coffee ice-cream Danish or whatever, preferably when no kids are around. Also a good novel to read while I munch on my goodies.

This was always my favorite growing up, but I no longer eat cholov stam. I still miss it, and I especially crave it when I’m pregnant. There really is no cholov yisroel substitute. DH thinks I’m nuts but it’s so good.

I’m with others on here - savory starches are my comfort foods, much better than sweets.

Potato salad

Get the drift...
Was super hard the year I was off nightshades

I’m intolerant to coffee, chocolate, ice cream and many of the typical easy grab- pick me ups so not much I can snack on Confused

So you're in blissland when Pesach rolls around and it's Shabbos-potato kugel, Yom Tov- chremzlech, Sunday-chips from potatoes, Monday - baked potatoes, Tuesday - sliced potatoes on chicken, Wednesday - mashed potatoes, Thursday - boiled potatoes with ? poured on it (I like sour cream on warm potatoes) Friday-potato salad. Wanna a nosh? potato crisps.

What is nighshades?

Nothing. I don’t eat for comfort. When I’m sad I starve myself.

I don't call it a comfort snack, it's more when I need to relax: It has to be something that I can have now! So it can't take more than 2 minutes to prepare.
Dairy chocolate with a hot cup of coffee usually does the trick.

Do you find comfort in other ways like doing specific things or hobbies?

I can't eat when I'm stressed - I can literally go a whole day w/out eating, so I sort of understand you.

Salad and dry, dry toast. Lots of dry toast. And lots of variety in the salad.

I know I’m weird.

Also kasha and soy milk.
Croissants.

Coffee with cereal bar, the rice crispies one. Not too heavy, perfect combo.

Fresh rye bread with butter or peanut butter. Ah yum!
