We once hosted for Shabbat the daughter of a friend of mine from college, whom I haven't seen much of since our college years (decades ago). We live on different continents. Besides being a lovely young woman in her own right, it was so interesting to see the ways in which she resembled her mother, the way I remembered her at a similar age.
