CHERRY CAKE
(This recipe does require measuring, sigh.)
In mixing bowl, put 4 eggs, 3 cups flour, 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of OJ or water, and 1/2 cup of oil.
Add 2 tsp of baking powder, and 1 tsp of vanilla.
Mix well with mixer or by hand.
Pour into pan.
Open can of cherry pie filling.
Randomly dollop most of can over cake batter, and hand the rest of can to kids to eat.
With a dinner knife, "slice" through pan vertically and horizontally to swirl cherry mixture through cake.
Bake for about an hour or when top is golden to medium brown.

Can this be made with Duncan Heinz yellow cake mix Very Happy

Probably! Great idea to make it even easier! (Would probably be even better with a lemon or pineapple cake mix, if you have one)

It probably can, but will be very different. This is a very heavy cake that stands up to the pie filling. The cherries will probably all sink to the bottom of a light fluffy cake like Duncan Hines. But should be yummy too!

LEMON PIE
(This tastes like cheesecake!)
Defrost 1 carton of rich's whip (8 oz) or equivalent. (I just double the recipe if I'm using a 16 oz carton so I don't have to measure half.) The defrosting part does take longer than 10 minutes unfortunately.
Pour whip into mixing bowl.
Add 4 eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup lemon juice.
Mix with immersion blender until sugar is basically incorporated. (Try not to overmix because it grows in volume and will overflow Put graham cracker crust on baking stability. (Optionally line baking sheet with foil for easier cleanup if you're a messy cook like me.)
Pour mixture into crust. It may reach the top.
Bake for 45+ minutes. It may still be a drop wobbly in the middle, but firms (Some of my kids like it

Are you supposed to whip the richs whip first or just use staright from the container?

Straight from the container, unwhipped. (It would probably make good ice cream or something whipped, but this is a dense pie.)

I have one: farfel or kasha
Bring a pot of chicken soup to a boil. Put raw farfel or kasha in a mesh bag, knot it and put it in the pot. I hang it over the side of the pot and cover the pot so the bag doesn't fall in. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes. Scoop out with a fork Put in a pan, cut open the bag and pour out the farfel or kasha. Season to taste but it has the flavor of the soup already. You could add fried onions.
Also I make cabbage and bowties with kasha instead of bowties for a carb free side dish.

Salmon skewers-
Ask your fish store to cut the salmon filets into 2-3 inch cubes
Dress salmon with your quickest marinade (we like Maple + orange juice + soy sauce + ginger), either marinate 20 min or don't lol, thread onto skewer, bake 16 min on 425
Serve on a bed of lettuce to be extra fancy, or in a large glass standing up (smaller skewers work better for that)

Fruit salad- can of mandarin oranges, can of peaches, can of pears, fresh grapes. Can also do a diced green apple for extra crunch and tartness but that's more work. Cut the peaches and pears, mix some spoonfuls of the juice from the mandarins with lime juice. Mix and serve.
