I am joining. Lost about 20 lbs so far, but I have another 15-20 to loose.
I do no white sugar/flour, which is easy. In addition I just limit calories to about 1200-1500 a day. Carbs are mainly wholewheat, also limited.

I actually just started a diet on Monday, I’m 4 months pp and am thoroughly fed up with counting and limiting myself so I just came up with my own plan of what I think will work for me. I have at least 50 lbs to lose but I’m taking it slowly
Up to 3 servings of carbs a day only whole grain or sourdough
2 fruits
Lots of veggies
Unlimited protein
Healthy fats unlimited bit not pigging out (avocado, salmon, olive oil, coconut oil etc)
If I do want to use Mayo, then that day I can’t have any other fats
Sugar free, I like sugarless sweetener
That’s basically it, Let’s see if it’ll work for me
I made some healthy muffins from dinner done that I tweaked slightly, some baked applesauce and just all in all try to eat a lot of protein
Any input on my plan? Think I’ll lose like this?

Im sure you will!
It sounds more or less like the keto diet.
Im doing the same. Also got about 50lb to lose.

I'm joining as well. I have 50-65 pounds to lose and am having a super hard time sticking to anything. I have an appointment with a nutritionist in a few weeks but until then will do intermittent fasting.

Can you explain how intermittent fasting works? I don’t have a plan yet but starting tomorrow.

I’m thinking of starting with some kind of a cleanse to reset my body. I need to lose so much I feel like I want to start with something more extreme for the first week or 2 and then ease into a normal menu. Any suggestions? I sometimes see ads of cleansing with veggie juices for a few days etc. I’d love to start with something like that but I don’t know how to go about it. I need to lose 50 lbs. I feel like my goal is so far away.

But that's not how it works, and that's not a good idea. If anything, you're just telling your body to adapt against weight loss and setting yourself up for failure before you even start.

I’m not sure what the person you asked is doing but I just don’t eat from 7pm until about 11am the next morning. I’m seeing great results!

I also avoid starch from 2pm and on.

So between 11-7 you have no rules?

Instead why don’t you try Atkins and try to get into ketosis- fat burning mode.
But don’t go for any of the process stuff, eat real food.
If you truly get into ketosis then your appetite will diminish and you will naturally eat less
A good resource is dietdoctor.com

I’m in too. I’m not doing anything extreme. Trying to keep to real foods (as in no white four or white sugar), move my body every day, and trying to keep to around 1500 calories a day. For me diets that are too restrictive lead me to binge. If I am hungry and I’ve already eaten 1500 calories that day I will still eat, but I will try to chose a fruit and a protein.

Intermittent fasting is having a set time where you don't eat, ideally working up to 16 hours fasting, 7 hours eating within a 24 hour period. You can drink water during thay time.

I usually do it from 7 or 8 pm until 11 or 12 the next day. Don't just jump into it. I would work on eating healthier first and making sure you are eating enough to be satiated. This should not be a struggle. Find what time period you are comfortable, and slowly increase it. I find it just comes naturally when I'm eating right.

It seems like this is something I can do. I’m just not understanding what the eating rules are during the hours when eating is allowed? No limits or restrictions? Or do I need to follow a plan then too?
Also is coffee allowed during the fasting hours?

I'll join. I'm already on a program called the mommy tummy fix.
The basic rules are: no refined sugar, no eating after 9pm, 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day(which I suck at) and 30 minutes of LISS cardio per day.
I also do no carbs except oatmeal, sweet potato, quinoa and fruit.
I have 20 lbs to lose let's see how this goes.

ETA there are also progressing core workouts as part of the program but that's really more about rehabbing your core after pregnancy not so much losing weight.

Hi
Can you please give me more info about the exercise/core strengthening? My muscles are so weak & I don’t have the stamina for vigorous workout.

Thanks

Black coffee is allowed. Intermittent fasting doesn't have any restrictions about what you wat during the other hours. I find it works best with a low carb or keto diet, but you could do it with any diet.

Try this video he explains it. The basic idea of LISS is keeping your heart rate down because it keeps you in the fat burn zone. It actually makes exercise easier. I can't yet vouch for the program because I just recently started it but it's the only program I've been able to stick to so.....

Thank you.
I think I’ll start with this. I can see myself managing it.
For a start, I just finished a pizza fest. As a goodbye party. Dunno when I’ll have it next.
I’m really excited to start tomorrow!
Good luck to all of us starting!

I want to also. I did it a couple weeks ago but I had a really hard and busy week last week so will start again tomorrow bli neder. Lots of whole foods like veggies and fruits. Clean proteins. No processed junk. Want to lose about 20 pounds. But I actually don't even own a scale. I could theoretically weigh myself at the gym mid week but I am less concerned with the weight. I want to be strong and healthy and full of energy and feel good.

Another diet that works for me is calorie counting. I downloaded an app “my fitness pal” as per another amother’s suggestion and just type in the food. The app tells me how many calories it is so I don’t need to put it in manually. Also, I went off white flour and sugar a while back, but I was eating too much other junk like w/w pretzels, Cheerios, potato chips and popcorn. Calorie counting lets me eat a slice pizza guilt-free, I just eat food with less calories the rest of the day.

How many calories do you eat per day? Who decides what’s the right amount?
