Was the Chicago World's Fair the first ferris wheel, or am I off by like a century?
I feel like the ferris wheel was introduced at some world's fair type event...but I am resisting the urge to google so I hope someone answers!

Yes! That's the one.

Isn't it fun to dig up dusty tidbits from the back of our brain?

Also, although Ferris wheel is a common noun referring to any one of these contraptions, Ferris should be capitalized because that was the name of the inventor.

Should we do a spinoff for grammar nerds?

Yes, but more like an inventory than record of events, calculating property ownership and taxes due.

This is fun!
I have been reading a lot of history since Covid started.
I feel a little moochy since I haven't given any clues, but I didn't see this thread until today so I haven't seen all the questions already posed.

Is Franklin considered a founding father?
Torah was in 2448.

Bull Moose Party was started by Teddy Roosevelt after the Republicans nominated Taft again. Unfortunately, this move split the Republican vote and Wilson (Democrat) was able to win.

Know-Nothing Party was another third party from somewhat earlier in US history, but I don't remember enough about it.

Who counts as a founding father? Ben Franklin lived in Philadelphia, Alexander Hamilton was born in the Caribbean, and the signers of the Declaration were from various states.

The Torah was given in 2448

This must be related to the Civil War, but unfortunately I'm not great with dates of specific battles.

The Emancipation Proclamation went into effect in January of that year, so that can't be it. Gettysburg?

Does one of the reasons have to do with the battle of Gettysburg?
