I used to do that. Then I got a pyrex measuring cup and fell in love. It cleans beautifully with a little soap and hot water.

I bought an egg cooker years ago for Pesach, it's a double size so I can make more at a time. It's convenient to save myself a burner and not need to stay in the kitchen to wait for the timer. (But I usually make a huge pot before Yom Tov anyhow.)

I just caved and bought coffee for Pesach that Miriam Cohen (overtimecook) is promoting. I love my nespresso, my daughter is a major coffee girl, and I thought of instant is unappealing to me. I’m hoping this will be some thing good for the week and a half. It’s literally the first time I’ve ever bought anything off Instagram and I hope it’s worth it. I’m almost embarrassed to admit it.

An influencer on Instagram promoted this shampoo that "smells heaven, everyone always compliments me cause my wig has this shampoo etc." so I bought it. Paid $17 for the shampoo and another $17 for the conditioner and the bottles are tiny! They smell good when putting them on but the smell fades right away and I never got one compliment from it.
Oh well, you win some and lose some

I don't get influenced so easily, but my husband does. And so w have a bunch of kitchen gadgets that I never use...
We also were in need of master bedroom linen, wanted to upgrade the look, get throw pillows, etc.. the works. Figured I'd be spending a pretty penny in the local stores and set aside money for it. Went to a particular local linen store advertised/pushed by an influencer, seemed like they do major customization, and created stunning bedrooms. And so we went there. We did end up with a stunning set, which I love, the beds look amazing when they are all made up nicely. BUT, here's the major caveat. Their service stinks! The linen pimpled after the first wash. And I washed only on cold gentle and hung to dry as per her instructions. And when I called the store to discuss, she kept pushing me off, call me in a few weeks, now I can't take care of it, now I'm with my mother in the hospital... Finally she said I should bring her back one part of the set, she will look at it and figure it out. She kept it for months, leaving me without a duvet cover for a while. Then she finally calls back that she took home a pillow case from the same set from her store, washed it a few times and nothing happened to it. So must be it's my fault, I did something wrong, and so there's nothing they can do for me. I was so mad! I used a pimple shaver to make the line somewhat better but it's still pimply. And I babied that linen like I've never done with any other linen in all my life! I'm assuming one pillow case in am empty washer has nothing to rub against and so her pillow case didn't pimple, while my washer was full (not overly so!) with 2 pillowcases, a duvet cover and a fitted sheet, and so everything ribbed against each other and so they pimpled. I only washed one bed's linen at a time, not 2 like I usually do. The duvet cover is actually the worst, the pillowcases barely pimpled, I don't know why.
I paid a mega fortune for this linen and expected some kind of customer service! I will never go back there again. And I'm actually in the market for a bunch of new linen set. Not going there for more!

Acorn since I did see a few influencers promote it. They also had all the seasons of midsomer murders on it. Then there was an ad for a 1/2 off yearly subscription... done!
I guess toveedo too. I did follow them and it was tishabav and I got it and my kids like it.

Nope, it’s a little gizmo that I paid about $7 for several years ago and it is one of my favorite things. Pots don’t come close. Perfect, easy to peel eggs every time.

That’s soo frustrating. I bought a linen set based on recommendations from this site and was also very disappointed.

Is Instagram like the TV infomercials/ads now?
My DH loves buying and trying all the gadgets and gizmos he hears about on the radio or online ads. He also trends to buy the "as seen on TV" products when he sees them in a store.
He's not into Instagram (yet!) But he gets influenced by good sales pitches.

All the things that I regret buying. But I don’t want to list them because I will hurt someone’s Parnasa.
Now if I need something I ask around what other ppl got or just buy what I like and try it myself.
I try not to listen to online advice, forums, ads…
Yet here I am in imamother! Lol.

Social media kept pushing this site I never heard of(Tuckernuck, I think it's called?) and had never shopped there before so it didn't even make sense why I kept seeing an ad for it with the same denim dress on the first slide. The dress kept growing on me til I finally caved and bought it. Then two weeks later, I'm standing in the checkout line at a local store and see an old friend who commented on my dress, saying she's been seeing it over and over on social media ads for a while now and finally just wanted to buy it already but it sold out in her size! And she'd never heard of that particular site before either, how bizarre! The dress was extremely thin and didn't wash well, if I'd seen it irl then I wouldn't have bought it.
