Teacher
I make 200k a year pre- tax
Post tax it comes out to around 160k.

I’m totally kidding LOL
I used to teach 20 hours a week. I made 17k. And that was after I negotiated my salary to make it higher than the school initially offered. And it wasn’t like I was a single girl strait out of high school.

As a spin off of the other thread regarding education and salary. No one on that thread was really clear about what they do. What do you do, and what is your salary?

What difference is it what people do, if all we want to know is if more education brings more income.
It’s all about the numbers.

Unless you’re curious fro a different reason.

Mental health Therapist for a healthcare company.... fully licensed with experience.
Full time, about 35-40 hours a week. I make 60K.
No, we don't all make millions or even 6 digits. I am thinking of starting private practice part time because I dont want to lose my current job if it doesnt work out. It is a huge gamble to go private practice with a lot of start up costs. When people complain about what their therapy costs please note it is not all of us and those who do likely had years and years of no (working to get hours for licensing...) or low pay. In a private practice if a client doesnt show, we dont get paid. It isnt so easy.

I stopped working after my twins were born. DH is self employed doing appliance repair and some plumbing, specializing in drainage solutions. He's from Israel originally and doesn't speak a good English so mainly works within the community. Income varies, but the last year was just under 300k, before taxes. We're in Brooklyn
