That's nice of you that you do it regularly.
Wow! That's so interesting! First time I've heard of emailing a teacher! Sounds easier and faster than calling.
I'm suppose I'm old-fashioned - I'm used to phoning the teacher. And besides, the mother phones the teacher at my daughters' school.
I'm curious: why do you think phoning a teacher, especially to compliment her, is intrusive?
What did your mother do when you were in school?
Never had a manicure. I can't bear longish nails - on my fingers, I cut them as soon as they've grown even a bit. On others, it doesn't bother me. Actually looks nice.
How often do you empty/clean the filter of your washing machine?

The filter below we clean when things get stuck.
I check the rubber on the machine daily (The front spinner).

Pretty often, though not as often as words.
I often calculate in my mind a bill, or grocery receipt to see if it adds up, while the family member who went shopping is doing that on a calculator. I usually reach the answer first and get it right. b"H.
I don't mean to brag, I'm just thankful that we were taught in school how to do maths using our minds, not with our fingers, and not with a calculator.

Usually before Sukkos. Sometimes during the year.
HODY buy new towels and bedding and throw out the faded/tattered ones?
(A tip: I cut worn out towels into squares and use them as shmattes for cleaning.)

Never actually go through the books for that purpose. If I come across a book I feel like getting rid of, I will.
