I did stewardess and pilot last year - found very reasonable costumes on Ali. Pilot costume was a onesie, so super comfortable

We're doing a NASA theme. Almost 2 year old girl and then 3 month old boy will be astronauts, I'll be wearing a long sleeve NASA t-shirt (from Target), and DH will be mission control- wired headset, button down shirt.
I like all coordinating but adults can still look like we're wearing clothing for the seudah.

My daughter has her heart set on Cinderella and my son wants to be a Chassidish Rebbe, white bekishe, short pants, white socks, and cane. No idea where either of them got their ideas from. Not Chassidish and we don't do Disney in this house.

Mm woven wooden picnic basket with handles, red and white gingham cloth, put in maybe onion rolls.

(My favorite Purim costumes were from a photo taken of a Family in Meah Shearim wearing Santa Claus, Mrs Claus, and elf costumes. Not sure if they knew what it was or if they just thought it was cute. It was super adorable)
Mishloach Manot for in-laws:
Make your own salads: (divide salad components into individual containers and keep dressings on side)
Deli time: Sandwiches, knishes, pickles, Dr. Brown's Cream Soda, ruggelach
Bagel and Lox: Bagels, cream cheese, lox, ground coffee
Cookie platter and fruit
Italian night: Pasta and Sauce packed with a wedge of parmesan and garlic bread (prepped and wrapped in foil for baking). Add in a Chiati wine and Cannoli for dessert.
Israeli: Make a platter of cigars, borekas, lachmagine, felafel with pita wedges and containers of hummus and Israeli salad. You can get the cigars, etc in the freezer case.
Cheese platter and beer assortment: Get a variety of cheeses and cut into small pieces with toothpick servers. Provide honey for dipping, crackers, mustards, and one or two types of beer.
Dessert Stunner: Make a deep trifle with cake, custard, whipped cream, fruit (and liquor if you like). Send in a beautiful serving dish/piece they can keep accompanied by a dessert wine.

Lol. When my youngest girls asked me what the next yom tov is, I said tu b’shvat. I need a breather.
But since we’re discussing it, we’ve been doing country themes for the past 3 years. We’re doing Eretz Yisroel. I need costume ideas for a 6 kids, 5 of whom are girls.

I know someone who had a baby right before Purim and there was talk of their shalach manos being chocolate balls and lemonade wrapped in a diaper 🤦🏻♀️ not sure if they ended up doing it.

I'll be the Karen of the week:
Don't bother with fancy MM. Accordingly to imamother statistics your MM will end up in the garbage can.
99% of MM acc. to imamother are:
EWWWW
yucky
unhygienic with loose laffy taffy sugar filled garbage that your kid's (with germy hands and running noses) have touched
and by the time they MM reaches it's destination it's been in a hot car for hours and G-d knows if it's even safe to eat!
Imamothers also don't have the "headspace" what to do with unwanted MM.
Imamothers have no intention to redistribute anything to chessed organizations or giving to the office or neighbours. No. Nothing is up to standards and need to be discarded.
In the world of imamother it's a mitzvah to toss it. The sooner the better.
