I’d like to add that people who tried to offer their services to fill the motherly role really turned my sisters and I off.
It was the people that didn’t say anything but we’re a steady presence that I gravitated toward. I think it might be because everyone likes to be the hero and when people offer that, even a young kid might feel like the other person just wants to make themselves feel good about themselves using the situation.

Of Course it’s normal. My mother has BPD so my father spoke to me about that stuff. He used to buy my pads and razors.
