On the giyores ama thread, she mentioned about the two jewish girls who had curly hair. I’m ffb and have straight hair and never knew that curly hair is the norm for jews.

Are you ashkenaz, sefard, blonde, brunette, red head?

I don’t think there’s such a thing as “Jewish” hair
Being Jewish is about taking on Torah and mitzvos, less about hair
I have a mixed background both ashkenazi and mizrachi and others. My natural hair is straight / very light wavy but when my hair falls I see tons of wavy and super curly strands too, it’s just that my straight hair weighs down all the rest. I have probably 30% or less of my total hair that’s like that. I think it’s because of my mixed background I have mixed hair
Also a mix of thin silky type of texture and very tough thick kind of stands

That's so weird.
I have wavy, mid brown hair with blond highlights.
In my entire extended family including first cousins and their kids, I don't know any with really curly hair. Some are dead straight and some are wavy, most are mid brown some go to white blond. Before you ask, we are not geirim - have a family tree going back to R Akiva Eiger on one side and a prominent Yekish family on the other.

Hah, can't help with Jewish hair, I'm a giyoret, too. My hair is light brown and normally straight as I blow dry it. But if I leave it to dry on its own or spray it with water and then knead it carefully, I can convince it to fall into sort of weak curls. No point in that though at this stage in life, with it covered most of the time.
Dh has curly hair. I had hoped that our kids would inherit that, but nope. They all got my hair. At wits end

When I was a really young girl my hair was dark blonde and quite curly...my grandmothers and great aunts used to cluck that I looked just like Shirley Temple. As I grew up my hair became more wavy rather than curly. All my daughters have curly/wavy hair.

I am fully Ashkenaz.

I have a Jewfro (so I voted curly). It's dark brown. I am fully ashkenazi through and through.

Anyone else with a Jewfro? If so, where are you from?

I voted curly, if I brush it out it can be wavy. I’m a mix of ashkenaz/Sephardic lineage.

As a kid my hair was very thick and straight. I've seen the pictures at around 10 years old. Very straight and long and thick and blond.
Somewhere along the lines it became wavy.
as a teen I permed my hair (yeah, I'm old) a few times.
Until one time a beautician asked me why I perm my hair, it is naturally curly. Surprised
Some 45 years later, and yeah when I wake up my hair has curls in it. So odd.

Ashkenazi, Light brown, very curly
No one's hair grows into bottle curls but I can take my curls and twist a few together around my finger to make bottle curls.

Dirty blond , light brownish. Stick straight as a kid. As an adult , slightly wavy some days and very straight some days Depends if I shower in the morning or night . Very thin. I have one kid with looser curls, one kid with tight cork screw curls , and one kid with hair so straight it looks like it stepped out of a commercial .
