If she's old enough to work, isn't she old enough to have her own opinions about what kind of coat she likes? If she's not sure, she can check out her friends and coworkers coats and see which ones she likes. My teen and young adult dds would never let me choose their clothing or coats!

Longer coats are in and more sophisticated. I have some in my bag at Nordstrom they are on sale now. Nice ones for about $200 range. Search Midi or long black puffer jacket.
