We're the third stop on our route (private in Jackson) and it came about 12 minutes late.

Nothing so fascinating. It brings the boys to Yeshiva very early so they can daven shachris with a minyan.

School bus for minyan routes.
In Lakewood boys schools, primary-5 have 1 start time (around 9) with a bus
6th-8th grade have minyan so they have a different start time at around 7:45 with a bus then.
Also high school boys start at 7:45 with a bus.
So my boys school will leave a snow message about transportation and use the term "minyan bus" to differentiate between the two bus times.
Some snows, there is no minyan bus and yes regular bus, or whatever.
