Is it a thing? Do people wear used glasses?

They send them to other countries for people who can't afford them. Why throw out an otherwise good pair.

Try aishel Shabbat 718-485-0672. I’ve donated clothing and toys to them in the past, wonder if they would take glasses or tell you where you can donate them.

How can someone possibly use someone's else prescription eyeglasses. It doesn't make any sense as it would be more expensive to attempt to sort them and find someone who needed the specific prescription.
Frames are very cheap - you can literally get frames from China for $2 or $3
The only glasses I can imagine having any value would be very expensive designer frames or vintage frames that were now collectible to trendy people

not worth it to donate. wearing the wrong prescription can cause damage and pain to the wearer, and each eye can be different. It's a nice thought but I would toss...
